Lynda Wilson was born and raised in west Texas. She grad-
uated from Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas in 1960, receiving
a bachelors degree with a major in applied arts. Two weeks
after graduation, she married her high school sweetheart,
Don, and lived in Austin, Texas while Don finished his
degree at the University of Texas. While living in Austin,
Don and Lynda frequently drove through the Texas hill
country and became lovers of Texas wildflowers. For a few
years, Lynda, worked as a display artist in Austin. In the
early 1970's, after moving to Dallas, she spent a few years
designing and producing abstract stichery art which she
showed and sold in the Dallas Metroplex. After raising her
twin boys and a career in teaching, Lynda pursued her long
time interest in the art of Batik. Her work includes her
beloved wildflowers along with a wide variety of other
domestic flowers and, more recently, some animals. After
four years of teaching herself the Batik process, Lynda,
began to show her work in juried art shows in the south-
west and that led to the award winning work being hung in
some Texas galleries. Lynda was just recently featured on
the television show "Texas Country Reporter". She has
received "Best in Show" awards in juried art shows in
Dallas and at the Tyler Museum of Art in Tyler, Texas.
Lynda, was one of 300 hundred artist from around the world
to participate in the “Bayou City Art Festival” in Houston.
She has held seminars at a number of school districts in
the Dallas area, specifically for art teachers in those
districts. Friends and patrons convinced Lynda to
produce and offer limited editions, signed and numbered
Giclee prints of her unique art.
